Chapter 4: Introducing Basic-Fact Strategies

Counting on, Counting On 1, 2, and 3, Counting on From the Greater Number, Adding Doubles, using Doubles to add, Counting Back, counting Back 1, 2, and 3, Using Doubles to Subtract, Exploring Fact Families

 Reading:  Book 3- Let's Learn Together

Skills:  compare/contrast; Drawing conclusions; recall/retell; sequence; main idea; short e; homonyms; final consonants, r, l & s blends; short o; s-verb endings; nouns; proper nouns (days of the week, months of the year); singular/plural nouns; classify; initial c/s and g/j sounds.

 Science:  Finish Weather; Begin Organisms

 Spelling:  Units 1-6. Spelling tests will begin.  Two spelling tests will be given each week.  Test 1; traditional spelling test- the student writes down the word called out by the teacher.  Test 2: The student will mark the word spelled correctly/incorrectly.
